QTSP (qualified trust service provider)

A provider audited and listed on the EU Trusted List to issue qualified e-signatures, seals, timestamps and certificates under eIDAS - the highest legal standard for signing in the EU.

eIDAS distinguishes ordinary trust services from qualified ones: a QTSP passes conformity audits, is supervised nationally, and appears on the EU Trusted List. A qualified electronic signature (QES) from a QTSP is legally equivalent to a handwritten signature EU-wide.

With the EUDI Wallet arriving in 2026, QTSPs become the anchor of reusable European identity. Fintechnologica flags QTSP as its own licence type - the register is public and verifiable, like a financial licence.
