About Fintechnologica
Fintechnologica is an independent directory of European fintech infrastructure — BaaS, card issuing, BIN and IBAN sponsorship, payments and compliance — with the licensing and sovereignty depth that generic software directories lack.
Why it exists
Directories like G2 and Capterra list thousands of vendors but tell you nothing about what actually matters when you build regulated financial products: who holds the licence, which regulator supervises them, where the data sits, and whether you can get a local IBAN. Decision-makers — CTOs, Heads of Product, founders — end up doing that research from scratch, one provider at a time.
Fintechnologica does that work once, properly, and keeps it current.
The sovereignty angle
European digital sovereignty — independence from US-controlled infrastructure under GDPR and CLOUD Act concerns — is increasingly a hard requirement, not a nice-to-have. We make it filterable: EEA data residency, company origin, local IBAN coverage, licence type, and the honest truth about card schemes (almost all card programs still run on Visa or Mastercard). We separate infrastructure-and-data independence from the card scheme itself, instead of pretending the difference doesn't exist.
How we stay honest
Every provider is verified at source. Listings are never ranked by payment — zero pay-to-rank. If you find something wrong, report a correction.
Who's behind it
Fintechnologica is run by Mikołaj Ślęzak — founder and the person who does the verification. It is a solo, independent operation (Digital Marketing Consulting, sole proprietorship), based in Warsaw, Poland: every profile in the catalogue — licence type, regulator, registry reference, data residency, ownership — is checked at source by the author, and every insight is written from that verified dataset (the byline on each one links back here).
